FAQs: Scheduling & Policies

Important information to help your learning experience to run smoothly!

HOW DO I SCHEDULE MY LESSONS? Once you've met with Mary-Elizabeth and have teacher recommendation, we'll put you in touch with your teacher directly so that you can book your first lesson time.

CAN I HAVE THE SAME LESSON TIME EACH WEEK? If you are a student in the Academic Year program, then yes. Regular students benefit from scheduling priority with a weekly reserved lesson time as soon as your payment is received. If you'd rather opt for a pay-as-you-go situation, simply find a mutually convenient time with your teacher for each lesson at least 7 days in advance, and make sure that you've paid your lesson invoice 24 hours before your scheduled session to confirm.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS MY LESSON? Our teachers make lessons a priority, so we ask you to do the same. In the same way that sports leagues and extracurricular classes don't issue a refund for missed practices or classes, we don't issue refunds for missed or no-show lessons because your teacher has reserved his or her time for you instead of someone else, and won't be able to recoup the lost time and income.

We do, however, understand that emergencies and exceptional circumstances exist, so we're happy to offer one make-up lesson for each 8-week term in the academic program.

I HAVE TO MISS MY LESSON. CAN I GIVE IT TO MY SPOUSE, FRIEND or CHILD? Of course! Just let your teacher know so that he or she can be prepared.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY TEACHER HAS TO CANCEL A LESSON? This is a rarity, but illnesses, emergencies and technical difficulties are all occasional parts of life. In the unlikely event that your lesson is cancelled, you'll be notified as soon as possible and It will be made up at a mutually convenient time.

SCHOOL, NATIONAL AND RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS: Please do not assume that it is understood that your child will miss scheduled lessons during holidays or other functions. As students come from many countries and school districts, are home schooled, or are not yet in school, the studio will not follow any particular school calendar. Please refer to your studio schedule for details.
